Descended from the Brava and TX Isuzu pickup trucks, the Isuzu Double Cab has become popular in the crossover 4x4 industry, merging leisure and heavy-duty capabilities into one versatile machine. A simple range overall, the Isuzu Double Cab is also offered in Single Cab with a choice of two drive configurations – four-wheel drive or two-wheel drive. Practical matter-of-fact styling combines easily with comfortable interiors, particularly in the upper models, which lean towards luxury.

Under the hood the KB Double Cab range offers improvements over its predecessor, particularly in terms of torque and low fuel emissions. The former is achieved with the help of an intercooler, while the latter has been achieved by the addition of smaller modifications, such as a choke system, improved exhaust reticulation and a catalytic converter. Off-road performance is superior in the 4x4 models, owing to excellent ground clearance, a limited slip differential and suspension system based on double acting gas shock absorbers. Despite these additions – which are ideal for rugged driving – Isuzu’s complex suspension system makes driving on the asphalt smooth and comfortable. Fuel economy in the 4x2 Isuzu double cab is superior, although even the 4x4 double cab ranks well against other gas guzzlers competing in the off-road class. Great for the farm, for building and exploring off-road, the Isuzu double cab has none of the frivolity present in new-age lifestyle SUVs, but plenty of the muscle you’d expect of Isuzu’s front-man warrior.
