Food Collection For The SPCA

August 14, 2018 By Rokkit

CMH Isuzu East Rand- SHADOW-COLLECTING-FOR-SPCA1

CMH Isuzu East Rand recently held a food collection for the Boksburg SPCA, as part of our Mandela Day Initiative.

Our original goal was to fill the bin of an Isuzu Double Cab, but soon enough we had to transfer everything to an Extended Cab, as the bin of the Double Cab just wasn’t big enough.

We were able to deliver wet and dry dog and cat food, blankets, toys and treats to Maggie Mudd, the manager of the Boksburg SPCA. They were most grateful and gave us a quick tour of their premises.

All the dogs and cats at the SPCA were in good health and well cared for. The kennels were clean and dry, and all the animals had jerseys on to protect from the cold.

Maggie has been working in animal welfare for 30 years and says if people would only sterilize their pets, there would be less strays and abandoned animals. The SPCA assists with sterilization at a reduced price.

If you are interested in adopting any of their animals, the adoption costs are R900 for a dog and R650 for cat. This fee includes sterilization, vaccination and microchipping of the animal.

If you are interested in donating to the SPCA, Maggie says puppy food is the most needed item. They have many puppies with them, and the puppies eat more often than the adult dogs.

CMH Isuzu East Rand will be holding regular collections for the SPCA, so keep your eye on our Facebook page.

A very big thank you must go the staff and management of CMH East Rand for their contributions, our Isuzu Specialists for driving the initiative and also to our customers SRT Electrical Wholesalers, SWS Security and Atall Mining and Cecile Gouws for their contributions to our collection.

Isuzu Mandela Day – 67 Minutes

July 27, 2018 By Rokkit

“There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.” – Nelson Mandela

On the 18th July 2018 Northwood School hosted a Mandela Day programme and fundraiser with sponsors donating Hamper packs as well as a host of activities at the school with all proceeds going towards the Domino Foundation. CMH Isuzu Umhlanga alongside CMH Opel Umhlanga took the initiative to take part and make a change this Mandela Day.

The Domino Foundation is a feeding scheme and social uplifting organisation who have been involved in numerous programmes resulting in 1193209 meals being delivered. The members were in full force behind the momentous day, collecting hampers and organising a day of activities, fun and giving in conjunction with Northwood School in Durban North.

Many companies, parents and individuals came through to participate as well as take part in the highlight of the day when CMH Isuzu Umhlanga handed over the keys to a brand-new Isuzu Kb 250 bakkie sponsored by the CMH Group for the foundation to use and service their needs. This was our way of giving back and a great way to celebrate Mandela’s legacy by helping those that help others who are less privileged.

It was a rewarding day that promises to follow up with more initiatives and continue giving back to the community which supports us.

Contributing To The SPCA

July 18, 2018 By Rokkit

The 18th of July may be Mandela Day, but at CMH Isuzu East Rand, we are making it Mandela Month. A month of giving back to the local community.

CMH Isuzu East Rand decided to support the Boksburg SPCA, by collecting food and blankets for all the animals in their care.

Our goal was initially to fill the back of an Isuzu bakkie with your contributions and we have been quite successful thus far.

From one little tin of dog food, we have now filled an Isuzu extended cab with food, blankets, toys and treats for the dogs and cats at the Boksburg SPCA.

MANDELA-DAY
The Boksburg SPCA not only takes in and cares for abandoned, stray, lost or abused animals, but they also pro-actively investigate complaints of animal cruelty, inspect businesses that use animals and are present at religious or cultural events where animal sacrifices are made, to ensure that they are done in a humane way.

We share our planet with a variety of animal species, and humans have taken to mistreating them. The SPCA does everything it can to assist in minimizing this abuse and assist in the rehabilitation of animals that have been abused.

This great vehicle has the power and reliability synonymous with Isuzu and a level of comfort and capability perfectly suited to South Africa’s requirements.

This great vehicle has excellent back up, coming with a 5 year or 120 000kms warranty and roadside assistance and a 5 year or 90 000kms service plan.

We are looking forward to flooding the East Rand with these vehicles and giving some of our competitors, who have become to take their position for granted, a run for their money, as the superiority of this vehicle will speak for itself.

Not only does the MU-X perform well, but it looks good too.

The MU-X is not only superior in performance, but it also comes in at around R20 000.00 cheaper than it’s competitors. Fuel Saving Tips

May 9, 2018 By Rokkit

With a recent increase in fuel price following an increase in April it seems we might be facing another increase in June. This is all due to Vat adjustments, rising costs, Fuel levy tax to accommodate the Road Accident Fund increase.

So here are a few fuel saving tips to get the most out of your buck when it counts.

  1. Roadworthiness – Get your car checked up by an AA approved workshop like ours and they will do a comprehensive check on the electrics and mechanical of the car which if faulty generally affects fuel consumption. All car manufactures ensure that vehicles maintain optimum fuel efficiency.

  2. Tyres play a major role in fuel consumption, ensuring you have good tyres that is wearing evenly and running smooth will determine if the car gets to factory consumption figures. Wheel balancing and alignment is equally important if either one is not correct the car will not be running smoothly.
  3. Braking system may not seem to affect fuel but if you have worn brake pads and discs that is causing a shudder it will automatically affect the easy flow of the vehicle resulting in high brake force and increased acceleration.

  4. Servicing on time may just seem like tedious task but with online service application’s it has never been easier and most vehicles have an indicator when it is due. Doing your service on time regulates part’s that increase fuel consumption as they wear Eg. Fuel filters, air filters and oil filters.
  5. Coasting does seem like a great way to save fuel and was the an effective way on the older model’s which did not have fuel injection, newer vehicles only release fuel when accelerating so it’s better to coast in gear rather than in neutral selection.

There are many other ways to save fuel that does not involve the vehicles smooth running like carpooling or ride sharing, not using the Aircon all the time and lowering the load on all non-essentials in the vehicle like big bags. Most cars that have a turbo which effectively recycles energy lowering fuel consumption and increasing power. Pop into CMH Umhlanga for a 50 point check service or to view our wide range of Fuel Saving vehicles.

Isuzu Off-Road And 4×4 Day

February 5, 2018 By Rokkit

Late in December 2017, the Isuzu team at CMH Umhlanga were invited by Isuzu South Africa for an adventurous Isuzu 4×4 off-road day at the Killarney 4×4 track in Shongweni. It was a day of fun, socialising, off-roading and a chance for the Isuzu team to show off their amazing bakkies, their capabilitie, as well as refresh product knowledge for the Isuzu Salesmen and staff. The day kicked off with a team round up at the dealership and then a road trip to Shongweni where the track is situated. Firstly there were the introductions, breakfast and summary of the event. With an array of Isuzu bakkies waiting for us to jump in and start the exciting 4×4 day we all set off on the course to the first challenge a small slightly wet incline with Marius van Vuuren and Grant McCleary from Isuzu there to supervise and guide the attendees. With a quick demo from Grant with Marius doing the breakdown of the dynamics the drivers were handed the keys to experience the capability and superior quality first hand.   After a few inclines, holes and rough terrain that displayed how the Diff-lock works, 4×4 gear selection, how and when to engage it and how it operates exactly, how Isuzu’s are specifically engineered to deal with South African terrain and the rigidness of the bakkies, we were off to take our bakkies for a dip in a river where we were shown how versatile the Isuzu bakkies really are from the Single Cab right up to the highest Double Cab. Isuzu bakkies have a wading depth of up to 600mm of water with ingenious design ensuring all electrical components and intakes are protected. Some of the highlights of the Isuzu brand and manufacturing: ·        Isuzu is the only brand that is locally tested and manufactured accordingly ·        Isuzu has a much bigger radiator due to the harsh South African climate ·        Isuzu tyres have been specifically selected after testing on South African roads for a smoother ride, grip and longevity ·        Isuzu bakkies have some of the strongest panels which have been requested by the public ·        Isuzu Warranty is comprehensive and ensures peace of mind ·        Isuzu is here to stay and deepen its footing in the country After a long day of off-road testing and lunch, it was a long drive back to the dealership with rejuvenated minds and spirit giving the team the right tools and knowledge to advise the customer accurately, CMH Isuzu Umhlanga welcomes you to our dealership to give you A-class service all round.   Isuzu – Made From Real

Sell Your Vehicle To Us

February 2, 2018 By Rokkit

If you are looking to sell your vehicle, selling it to a dealership is a far better option than selling it privately. Firstly, selling your vehicle privately is a lot more work than selling it to a dealership. You have to advertise your vehicle yourself, then field all the calls from people making you an offer, selling to a dealership is normally just one or two visits.   Selling it online yourself is always a risk, you have to deal with strangers, and take chances when meeting up with them, a visit to a dealership is always a much safer environment. Dealerships are reputable businesses and are not going to run away with your money, at CMH East Rand we pay via EFT, within a specified amount of time. Advertising the vehicle yourself, it can take a while to actually sell your vehicle, where as a dealership can conclude the sale with you straight away.   If the vehicle that you are selling is a high end one, and a big ticket item, the chances of you getting the full amount that you want, are better when selling to a dealership, we have the higher amounts readily available. Selling to a dealership takes the hassle of all the paperwork out of your hands and you can be assured that the vehicle will be taken out of your name. At CMH East Rand, we pay fair market values for your vehicle, require very little paperwork to be completed and make payment within the specified time, in full, directly into your bank account. Bring your vehicle to us for an evaluation and we can make you an offer. We are looking for vehicles that are under 5 years old, with less than 100 000kms on the clock.
