CMH Isuzu East Rand recently joined the Eastern Caravan Club in Warmbaths on their weekend away. Sales people Kieran Horner and Chris Barnes attended the event to give more exposure to the excellent capabilities of the Isuzu Mu-X and Isuzu D-MAX Double Cabs. They answered many questions about the suitability of both vehicles for towing caravans and trailers and demonstrated how practical and spacious both vehicles are, making them the perfect family vehicles! Prizes were given in spot competitions, testing the attendee’s knowledge of our awesome vehicles! Demonstrations and test drives were done in the vehicles, and everyone was suitably impressed with the superb towing capabilities of the vehicles. In the D-MAX, our team towed a 1.2 ton caravan at 100kph at 1800 revs! They experienced excellent stability with very little, if any, trailer sway! CMH East-Rand Year End Awards, the event was enjoyed by all who attended.

We celebrated an exceptional year at the East-Rand Year End Awards. Management gave out some awards acknowledging hard work and achievements.

Isuzu Sales person of the year was awarded to Beryl Van der Merwe, acknowledging her excellent sales record this year and the extra hours she has put in to market this brilliant brand in our community.

Food Collection For The SPCA

CMH Isuzu East Rand recently held a food collection for the Boksburg SPCA, as part of our Mandela Day Initiative.

Our original goal was to fill the bin of an Isuzu Double Cab, but soon enough we had to transfer everything to an Extended Cab, as the bin of the Double Cab just wasn’t big enough.

We were able to deliver wet and dry dog and cat food, blankets, toys and treats to Maggie Mudd, the manager of the Boksburg SPCA. They were most grateful and gave us a quick tour of their premises.

All the dogs and cats at the SPCA were in good health and well cared for. The kennels were clean and dry, and all the animals had jerseys on to protect from the cold.

Maggie has been working in animal welfare for 30 years and says if people would only sterilize their pets, there would be less strays and abandoned animals. The SPCA assists with sterilization at a reduced price.

If you are interested in adopting any of their animals, the adoption costs are R900 for a dog and R650 for cat. This fee includes sterilization, vaccination and microchipping of the animal.

If you are interested in donating to the SPCA, Maggie says puppy food is the most needed item. They have many puppies with them, and the puppies eat more often than the adult dogs.

Contributing To The SPCA

The 18th of July may be Mandela Day, but at CMH Isuzu East Rand, we are making it Mandela Month. A month of giving back to the local community.

CMH Isuzu East Rand decided to support the Boksburg SPCA, by collecting food and blankets for all the animals in their care.

Our goal was initially to fill the back of an Isuzu bakkie with your contributions and we have been quite successful thus far.

From one little tin of dog food, we have now filled an Isuzu extended cab with food, blankets, toys and treats for the dogs and cats at the Boksburg SPCA.

The Boksburg SPCA not only takes in and cares for abandoned, stray, lost or abused animals, but they also pro-actively investigate complaints of animal cruelty, inspect businesses that use animals and are present at religious or cultural events where animal sacrifices are made, to ensure that they are done in a humane way.

We share our planet with a variety of animal species, and humans have taken to mistreating them. The SPCA does everything it can to assist in minimizing this abuse and assist in the rehabilitation of animals that have been abused.

Help us make a meaningful contribution, pop into our Isuzu show room on North Rand Road and drop off a tin of dog or cat food or a blanket ……Let’s see if we can beat our initial target and make it 2 Isuzu bakkies!

Before setting off on your December road trip, here are a few helpful tips to make sure that your vehicle gets you there with no problems.Roadtrip Checklist • Make sure that your vehicle’s next service will not be due during the trip, not only to ensure that everything is in working order but also to make sure that you do not jeopardize the validity of your warranty. • If you do not need to book your vehicle into a workshop, do some important checks yourself to make sure you do not get stuck on the side of the road. • Ensure all fluid levels are topped up, brake fluid, water levels, coolant levels, washer fluid, engine oil and most importantly your fuel level. Roadtrip Checklist • Check your driveway and make sure that there are no leaks under your vehicle. • Check that all tyres have enough tread and are pumped up to the required amount. Include your spare wheel and the wheels of any trailer you may be towing. Roadtrip Checklist • Check that all lights are working, and if you are towing, make sure the lights on the trailer are correctly connected and work as well. • Ensure that your windscreen is free of chips or cracks that may obstruct your view, and that your wipers work well and the blades are in a good condition. Roadtrip Checklist • Check that you have the relevant tools you may need to effect a few repairs if needs be like jack and wheel spanner and of course jumper cables, just in case. • Refer to your owner’s manual or handbook for instructions on how to do the checks and also what the required levels will be. • Ensure that your licence disk is valid. • Make sure that all luggage is securely packed or tied down in the case of a trailer. Roadtrip Checklist • Plan your route to schedule important stops to stretch the legs and have a rest. • Ensure you have enough to occupy the kids, not only are distractions dangerous, but a trip is always more pleasurable when the kids are not bored. • Rest well and ensure you get enough sleep a few days before you set off, tiredness is a driver’s biggest risk, especially if you are travelling at night.
